SYNOPSIS
An 8-week class where students learn functional anatomy from an animator's perspective, do 'animated anatomy worksheets,' progress in body-section-by-section on a long-term project of an anatomical animated turnaround, and each week apply their anatomical studies to movement in an animated character.
CLASS BREAKDOWN
Each week consists of a 3-4 hour class period of a lecture, demo, live workshop classtime, and homework review. Students also have access to the instructor for feedback and input throughout the week.
Class materials: Each student will receive a 10-week educational license access to the website 'bodies in motion' - as well as relevant week-to-week handouts for the different anatomical areas of focus. Students are also encouraged to access suggested-but-not-required reading material from books on anatomy, though most of the relevant pages from several of those books for the assignments will be provided in the weekly handouts.
Homework consists of:
- Weekly progression on an animated bone/muscle anatomical turnarond.
- Motion studies from live action/bodies in motion reference, emphasizing an understanding of anatomical bone/muscle groups.
- Animated muscle & bone movement worksheet. (I.e. an animated sheet of bicep and tricep muscle groups flexing on the bone for arm week.)
- Short character animation (pose test or inbetweened, can be rough or tied down) that shows an application of that week's anatomical focus.
Homework time spent should be around 8 hours per week. (More if able to commit.) Students do not necessarily have to complete every homework assignment, as I want QUALITY over QUANTITY for the week-to-week homework efforts. I will also modify or prescribe specific study exercises for students based on my judgement and observation of what I believe they would benefit from practicing most.

W8 - Final review + dynamic anatomy freesketching sesh
CLASS RECORDING
Each session of the class is recorded. About 1-2 weeks after the class concludes, students will be given a download or stream link for an edited version of the class sessions.
HOW TO GET IN THE CLASS
If you have signed up for the paid class, please notify Spacedad in DMs on discord with a pictured copy of your receipt, or send me an email at stcldan@gmail.com - I'll be adding you manually to a discord role for the class session. The class session will happen in a discord voice chat room that only those in the class session have access to. (My discord invite link: https://discord.gg/spacedad-s-spaceclub-783932860042182677 )
The instructor (Spacedad) will try to get individualized feedback to every student during the course of the session.
The class is run through discord and will be recorded and uploaded for the covnenience of students.

DAY/TIME OF THE CLASS (TO BE DETERMINED)
This class is meant to be flexible for the schedules of the students who sign up for it. When it gets a minimum of 4 students, those who sign up can confer with the instructor and the other students for a consensus on what day/time would work best for them to hold the class. When the class date is locked in, this store page will be changed to reflect the new date, and students will be able to sign up for any slots still open before the class commences. (Previously I was planning on this class for Summer, but for greater flexibility, I am instead gating this course to a minimum of 4 students, and consensus among the 4 signgup students on what days/times the classes will be held.)
MULTIPLE CLASS SECTIONS (A AND B)
To accommodate people of different time zones and availability, I am leaving the possibility open for splitting up students into multiple modules of the class to be taught. Students of each class section will be able to confer on what is the best time/date to hold each iteration of the class.
CLASS SIZE
I am taking on a total of TEN students. Gumroad limits the # of purchases and lists how many are currently enrolled in the class on this page.
